Biography

Geraldine has performed and recorded with a wide range of artists in Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco.

At a very young age, Geraldine signed her first recording and management contract. She and her co-writer and duo partner were described as the female equivalent of Simon & Garfunkel. They performed throughout the greater Washington, D.C., area in clubs and concert venues, including at an Earth Day event on the Washington Monument grounds. They also toured the East Coast, were broadcast on local and international radio stations, and appeared on numerous television programs.

The folk duo made several appearances at the legendary Cellar Door, where they were runners-up to Emmylou Harris in the competitive “Best of the Hoots.” When her partner chose to pursue a career in art in San Francisco, Geraldine became a regular solo performer in the Washington, D.C., music scene. She performed and recorded with some of the area’s most notable artists, including Mary Chapin Carpenter; producer and guitarist John Jennings; producer and guitarist Steuart Smith, formerly of the Eagles; and keyboardist and artist Jon Carroll.

Geraldine was honored to participate in Jeff Order’s special video broadcast presentation, “Giving Hands,” which raised funds and awareness for people experiencing homelessness in Baltimore. Her vocal tone, four-octave range, and versatility reflect ten years of operatic training. This enabled her to perform works associated with artists such as Judy Collins, Bonnie Raitt, and Ella Fitzgerald, as well as composers including Handel, Mozart, and Puccini.

For eight years, Geraldine was a leading vocalist for radio and television commercials, two of which received ADDY and CLIO Awards. She also became the voice of the United Way’s national advertising campaign for two years, leading to performances at the prestigious Kennedy Center with Richie Havens before an audience that included former President Gerald Ford and Cary Grant.

Geraldine worked alongside Kit Kamien producing annual benefit concerts for the NIH Research Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. She became a regularly featured artist on several television programs (Fairfax Magazine and Weeknight Alive!) and performed numerous times at local venues, including Washington, D.C.’s Blues Alley, to sold-out crowds. Geraldine was selected to sing the national anthem for the Washington Redskins and was a regular vocalist performing “God Bless America” before Washington Bullets games. She and her band also performed at the Austin Opry House as finalists in a national competition.

After winning a spot on “Star Search,” Geraldine relocated to Los Angeles to continue her career as a singer-songwriter, performing at venues including the Cinegrill and the former Palomino Club. She sang on various film, television, and other media projects with producers like Marc Shaiman (for the film, Honeymoon in Vegas), Peter Matz, Trevor Lawrence, and Mike Post, and included a charitable-event performance with Smokey Robinson.

Geraldine also performed with singer Rosemary Butler, known for her work with Jackson Browne, during Butler’s annual holiday events which benefited recovering and disabled children. She worked with Cary Park of Boy Howdy, and jazz pianist Gregg Karukas. During one of her many trips to Nashville, she recorded an album of original material with Curtis Stone of Highway 101, and also appeared on television and performed at several well-known Nashville clubs, including the famed Bluebird Café.

A multi-instrumentalist, Geraldine has a natural gift for writing heartfelt, memorable melodies. Her songs are both intimate and universally appealing.

“I love the creative process of starting with an idea or a melody, honing it, and seeing the song mature through the many nuances of storytelling and musical content—then finally hearing the finished work in the studio.”— Geraldine
